BIOMECHANICA. THE INSPIRATION

The inspiration for our latest collection was the works of the artist H. R. Giger. a Swiss artist best known for his airbrushed images that blended human physiques with machines, an art style known as "biomechanical"
This inspired Revital so much, that she decided to create a one off wearable art piece inspired by the same theme.
The piece convey a mechanical structure of the human being.
The spine, being the motoric center of the body, made from metal and pins and has an exaggerated shape,is carrying the human body into a futuristic artificial intelligence function.
All the pieces in this design are built one on top of the other, in a symbiotic way, as if the machine was giving birth to itself. The silk skirt has a rust print of a motor chain...our rustic past...
The jewelry pieces are a mix of mechanic accessories, and brass crafted vertebrates. The intricate work of Zippers symbolise the metal weaving into all parts of our lives. Almost invisible, a useful mechanical act, that changed our lives, unnoticed.
This piece was made in a architectural way. Its an invocation for awareness around the artificial era we are in,and the future of our bodies.
